Life is full of distractions

April 4, 2012 By Paul Yeatman

Thanks to trying to set up a home server and moving house, I’ve been too distracted to post here.

Here, being my niche’s site, not the LiveJournal one. I’ve just uploaded wp to this site, so should be back into the swing of things after Easter.

Tonight is the submission for “produce commercial illustrations”. Images and WIP will be entered into the archive soon.

Last Friday I got a shock when I realized this subject was due tonight. I’d finished nothing and not started task 3!

Sat night I worked on task 2 until around 1am. Work continued Sunday. I used a heap of implied detail for over half of this task. It came up really well.

Sun night I worked in task 1 until around 23:30 then called it quits. A small amount of tweaking on Min night and it was done. The shadows and lighting are a bit dodgy and the colours are glary, but the brief has been met.

Task 3 began at 20:30 last night and ended at 00:00. I’d drawn some thumbnails a while back and fleshed those out. The infogram I was tasked with was how to fry an egg. The plan was for a 4 or 5 step diagram in monotone. While creating the work, they was about stark, so it became colorful and expanded to 6 steps.

Task 1 and 3 were illustrator jobs. Task 2, photoshop. I mounted it all before work today and burnt a CD with research, thumbnails and finished work.

Yay. Hopefully this weekend’s move goes quickly and I can relax.
